Baltimore County Police are
investigating a Saturday, Dec. 12
crash in Rosedale that killed a
man.
The preliminary investigation into
the crash in Rosedale indicates
that just before 1:30 a.m., a BMW
328I was traveling southbound on
Chesaco Avenue, south of Dalrose
Avenue. The vehicle went off of
the roadway and struck a concrete
culvert, several trees and two
parked cars. The passenger in the
vehicle was ejected.
The ejected passenger was declared
dead at the scene. The operator of
the vehicle was transported to the
R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center
with serious injuries. His current
condition is unknown.
This crash remains under
investigation by the Baltimore
County Police Crash Team. The
investigation is expected to take
several weeks.
The man then reached into a
kitchen drawer retrieved several
knives. He advanced on officers
with those knives. Another taser
was deployed against the man, but
it was not effective. Three
officers then fired, striking the
man.
The man was declared deceased at
the scene.
The Baltimore County Police
Homicide Unit is on the scene
investigating. The Homicide Unit
investigates all police-involved
shootings. After the investigation
is complete, the report will be
turned over to the Baltimore
County States Attorney’s office
for review.
The officers involved in this
shooting are placed on
administrative status while the
incident is reviewed.
