The
Dundalk Owls magical season came
to an end on Thursday, Dec. 3
with a 55 to 14 lose to Damascus
in the 3A Football State Title
game.
The Owls fell behind 14 to 0
early after a few turnovers, but
were able to start the second
quarter on a positive note when
Owl Quarterback Darrius Sample
ran in a touchdown on fourth
down from the Damascus' two-yard
line. A two-point conversion
made it 14 to 8 and then
Damascus' Jake Funk took over.
The running back scored a record
seven touchdowns and had 270
yards as Damascus went on a 41
to 0 run before Dundalk added a
late touchdown. The Owls were
trailing at halftime 41 to 8.
Dundalk finishes with a 12-2
record after a trip to their
first state title game....
